| I know Christa and I read her.
Her Jamie Fraser is legendary and her books have turned many onto the romance genre and the time travel genre.
The books are mammoth in size but are worth it. They tell the story of Claire and Jamie.
This stunning blend of historical romance and time traveling adventure has captured the hearts of millions of readers around the world and catapulted author Diana Gabaldon to the top of the New York Times best seller list. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love.
In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. Their blissful reunion is shattered when she touches a boulder in an ancient stone ruin and is instantly transported to 1743 Scotland, a place torn by war and raiding border clans. Will Claire find her way back to her own time, or is her destiny forever linked with Clan MacKenzie and the gallant James Fraser? Blurb from Outlander or Cross Stich in the european countries....
Order of the books are
Outlander Dragonfly in Amber Voyager Drums Of Autumn The Fiery Cross A Breath of Snow and Ashes Echo in the bone (fall 2009)
She has also written another series The Lord John Grey series which I haven't reas yet.

| Oh Christa my mind hadn't wandered that far ahead!!
He probably wouldn't look at us twice though he has Claire, we'd have to go looking for the younger version before claire to have any success!

Last summer I was on the till at work when this guy came in. I swear he looked just like I imagined the younger version of Jamie!! I was gutted that I couldn't get off the till to get my phone and sneak a pic! He was truly beautiful, tall with gorgeous red hair. I've never seen him again so he must've just been visiting the town for a while.

| Hey Mandy!
I adore DG and her series, but Fiery Cross just got the better of many an avid reader, including myself! I finished each book in about a week, but that one took me two.... Don't be too hard on yourself. Everything in good time. As you know, the story is so engaging and fulfilling, that once you get on to Breath...you're be screaming for Echo in no time. May as well savour the story until the fall when we get the next installment of J & C's romance.
DG is the author that inspired me to put pen to paper, actually.... love her.
BTW, I so envy you and Alana for living in the magical places that KMM and GB write about. It's my dream to visit Wales, Scotland and Ireland while I'm still young enough to run up those rolling hills painted 40 splendid shades of green!! Aside from the desire to look up my husband's families (Murphy/Rafferty) I wish I could to my writing research "hands on" and not try to get the feel from someone else's pov or pics!! Ah, one day...
Happy reading...! | |
